Village, 2nd background painting of my concept art class.
Based on the egypt culture, I decide to create a semi futuristic environment for it. Really learn alot in this piece, keep refine after some critique from my lecturer.
Comment and critique are welcome.
Approx. 18 - 20 hours.

Another interesting piece in my opinion :) Pretty obvious there was a little more design work here than on the other ones i think. the almost symmetrical composition suites the subject here. the little buildings on the bottom look a little strange in terms of scale. perhaps smaller windows will make things look smaller and exaggerate the main subject even more. One comoposition problem i feel you have here is how you cropped things on the extreme edges. Mainly on the pillar on the left side. If you crop things near the edge it creates a really heavy area in the image setting the other thigns off balance. Perhaps you can increase the height of the image showing a little more of the fire and and the laser beam thingy to make it more dramatic. Mood in most of ur paintings i think need a little more attention in terms of how light color bleeds and spreads. you are using too much white i feel which doesn't necessarily look bright, they just look cloudy or foggy. remember that light is not just about brightness value, but also color temperature. hope this helps dude. I like this piece as well. love the lighting on the pillar on the right side :) keep up the awesomeness :)

I like to give credit where it's due. Has no one ever complimented your lighting before? It's so incredibly well done. If you really want me to be critiqual on this (for learning's sake) the only problem i have with this image is... You see the pillar on the left hand side? That building underneath/to the left of it, I get the feeling that the building should overlap the pillar. - I don't know, that's just what I'm getting when I look at it.
